Egmond aan Zee half Marathon : Ethiopia hitch free victory
Ethiopia had an upper hand over Kenya at the half marathon of Egmond aan Zee in Holland. Dawit Wolde had a hitch free victory in the men category, while his compatriot Meseret Haily had to strive in the lady’s.
Ethiopia had an upper hand over Kenya during the 40th edition of the half marathon of Egmond aan Zee in Holland. Dawit Wolde had a hitch free victory in the men category by outpacing the Kenyan, Gideon Kipketer with 23 seconds, and the Eritrean Samuel Tsegay with 29 seconds. He took the opportunity to significantly improve the record of the event. In the women, the Ethiopian Meseret Haily had to strive in the last one hundred meters to beat the Kenyan Florence Kiplagat: three seconds separated the two athletes. With 1h 11 '21 ", the Ethiopian achieved the sixth best perfotrmance in the history of the race.
